Learning & Supervision Log

Have you made any notes in pages 212-215 & 224-231 of the workbook?

This is the place to log that information.

Top Right Thinking Coaching Log

The Top Right Thinking coaching log & the Coaching Experience Log. If it’s 15 or 90 minutes—log it! You can backdate hours, so include recent coaching & keep your logs up to date for a smoother application.

1000 Words - Your Coaching Approach

1000 Words - Fitness to Practice

Show how you coach in practice with a typical client, and reflect on how you learn and grow. Use the AC competencies to guide your thinking. (See pages 192–193 of the workbook.)

Self Assessment & Coaching Development Plan

Self-assess your coaching so far, reflect on feedback, spot areas for growth, and map out a plan to reach your learning goals. (See pages 198–202 of the workbook.)

AC Competencies

Throughout your journey to qualify and accreditation as a coach, you should become familiar and constantly reflect on the coaching competency framework.

FAQ's

How late can I send my coaching hours log for approval?

The day before our last session is absolutely fine! Maximise those hours!

Do my coaching clients need to donate or pay for my coaching for them to be counted?

Coaching anyone in your organisation counts as ‘paid for’ coaching, as you are paid by the employer you share. Donations to a charity can also class as ‘paid for’ coaching. Exchange of services can also be counted, for example- you coach someone, they do your accounts. Whilst you do not need a set number of paid coaching hours anymore for AC, we recommend all coaching is paid for, as it heightens the value for the client, and makes them more likely to commit if they have made a financial commitment.

Can I coach my friends with a professional focus, or should it be people I don’t know within an organisation?

It can be either! Your friends who are professional are a great place to practice your skills, and add value to people you know and like. It is a good idea to mix this with coaching strangers, so you can practice the skills required to build trust quickly.

Do I need to have completed my accreditation to move to the next level of qualification?

No! Qualification and accreditation are two separate things, you can do our advanced qualification and apply for accreditation at either level after that.

Do I need insurance to coach?

Yes. And the AC will ask to see evidence of your personal indemnity insurance when you apply. We have recommended Policy Bee to our coaches and they seem to provide a competitive quote. For every referral from Top Right Thinking, we will donate the £20 reward to St Helena’s Hospice, who provide crucial palliative and end of life care to those in need.
