Advanced Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring

Awarded by Top Right Thinking

Book Supervision Sessions

Ethical dilemma sessions count towards your supervision hours and offer a collaborative space to tackle real-life challenges, sharpen critical thinking, and grow professionally.

1000 Words - Coaching Case Study

Describe your work with a client over time—context, process, and what you learned along the way. (See pages 182–190 of the workbook.)

Update Your Supervision Log

Have you made any notes in pages 212-215 & 224-231 of the workbook? This is the place to log that information.

Update Your Self-Assessment & Development Plan

Review your coaching practice and progress to date through self-assessment. You should have made progress through your action plan since you last completed this for the Award course.

Update Your Coaching Log

Log every session—15 minutes or 90! You can backdate hours, so include recent coaching and keep your records up to date so you don't have to scroll through your diary later on.

FAQ's

Do I need to have completed my accreditation to move to this the next level of qualification?

No! Qualification and accreditation are separate things. You can do our advanced qualification and then apply for accreditation at either level after that.

How many additional coaching hours do I need to get this higher level qualification?

None! the 20 hours that you did for the first Top Right Qualification are all you need. We of course hope and suggest you will gain more hours, but they are not required. This means that you can gain this higher level qualification even if your opportunities to coach right now are limited.

How many additional assignments or self-study are required for this advanced qualification?

Potentially none! The assignments and reading that you did for your initial qualification are carried over to this one. If you did all 3 assignments because you are working towards your accreditation (coaching approach, fitness to practise, coaching case study) then you have nothing more to do here! If you have only completed 2 from 3 because you are not accredited yet, then you have 1 to do - but as you know we can do that in the room and keep it really simple!

It sounds too good to be true…Like I just turn up at the sessions, do the supervision and I am qualified to a higher level?

Yes that’s right! We deliberately ‘front load’ our programmes and upweight the requirements of our first qualification so that you don’t have to do things twice. For example the AC requires that you do a 500 word assignment on your Coaching Approach for their Award level (our initial qualification) and 1000 words for their Certificate level (our advanced qualification). We raised our bar and asked you to do 1000 the first time around! That means the written assignments you have already done can be used to get you a higher level of recognition.

Do I need insurance to coach?

Yes. And the AC will ask to see evidence of your personal indemnity insurance when you apply. We have recommended Policy Bee to our coaches and they seem to provide a competitive quote.
