I mentioned on last week’s Tea Break Coach that helping people to use coaching skills at work - as part of their day jobs - is one of the things I most enjoy about where my various experiences have taken me.

It’s also one of the most simple and powerful things I do to help organisations and individuals.

My curated programmes in Coaching and Mentoring are small. There might even be a bit of a wait for a place as I select which people on the wait list match the others best.

But this means I can deliberately bring together like-minded people to form a lifelong network as they learn to coach together. Ideal if you have a growth mindset - but don’t really love networking events!

Here are the Sensational Six. All became fully qualified coaches last week. I’m exceptionally proud that they all are all recipients of my formal qualification in Coaching and Mentoring, which is accredited by the Association for Coaching. 

As part of the deal, they are all also now licensed to co-tutor my own ‘Leaders Who Coach’ programme back in their own organisations.
Giving other people the gift of your programme to deliver for themselves is not quite the ‘max-out the commercial’ approach you may see modelled elsewhere. But I train coaching with the same mantra that I apply to Executive Coaching, the best coaches make themselves redundant.

I am proud that I grow the brains of other people to think brilliantly without me there. To help them to have more top right conversations that can change the world - one cup of tea at a time.

One of the parts of my job I love the most is training other leaders to coach. Learning to ask questions with curiosity, rather than to listen to respond, changed my life and changed me forever as a leader.
 
Here are three killer Top Right Questions that created by people who have attended my Leaders Who Coach programme over the years – which I am now proud to say is certified by the AC.
 
I give coaching a deliberately everyday slant – My coaching gives you tools that you can use on the job - rather than just taking an hour out of the day-job to coach as a series of confidential conversation. I qualify people to do both – but my 30 years of experience in almost every business function means I specialise in the former.
 
I have trained over a 1000 people to be Leaders Who Coach and over 30 to become fully qualified coaches through my Top Right Coaching and Mentoring programme, which is accredited to the Association for Coaching. This gives a formal qualification to senior leaders or HR leaders who want to harness the power of coaching in their organisations.
 
Leaders Who Coach is a fast-paced 1 day foundation session in coaching for leaders - but as you will see from the quality of these questions, absolutely hits the spot – hence it deserves a spot on the CV and a formal certificate for anyone attending it too!

Many of you will know I was a huge football fan as a girl so when I had the pleasure to be invited to host a training session for 150 people with a view of the amazing pitch you see here @AccringtonStanley, it wasn’t hard to swallow agree to a 7 hour round trip and a big gig!

Do make the trip up north if you ever get them in a cup tie. The hospitality, pitch itself and the family feel of the place gave me actual goosebumps.

Myself and the NorthLancsTrainingGroup had an amazing morning together.

The usual suspects were all in play but with some absolutely first-class inputs from the room – as you would expect with over 50 years of experience in training under their belts.

So here is my Ebbinghaus nudge to the team.

I am particularly wondering how they are getting on with those Time Travelling postcard promises!

…and whether you are doing the work equivalent of making Spaghetti Towers today…or remembering to do something more important instead!

Thanks to the brilliant Sam Fender, #ImposterSyndr Thanks to the brilliant Sam Fender, #ImposterSyndrome has been trending this week.

I’ve seen two brilliant live shows of his - both ‘back in the day’ as a support act, but thrillingly at his first gig headlining at St James Park, which was pretty special.

So, I’m a big fan! But I’m also a big fan of Sam sharing his sense of being an imposter last week after Leeds and Reading. I know and remember that moment of relief when you realise “It’s not just me!” And I think he will have brought that to life for so many of his fans.

So rather than bring you a new Tea Break Coach this week, I thought I would share a very early experimental one from last year!

This video didn’t really see the light of day - I had to finally accept the feedback that recording Tea Break Coach sessions actually ON the beach with a gusty Northeast wind probably wasn’t the best set up!

However, because this was recorded on King Edward’s at Tynemouth, a beach that is just a couple of miles from where Sam grew up, it felt a bit like fate to share it.

Especially as it is now where I now swim in all weathers to get keep my own worries, insecurities, frustrations and ‘it’ (imposter thinking) at bay.

Having these sorts of feelings is totally normal. It is what we do next with them that matters.

Most importantly it is crucial to recognise that it is a choice about how much rent space we continue to give these thoughts in our heads once we have acknowledged they are there.

I hope this short video helps someone you know. Or maybe you can just let me know if you can hear me well enough after all and think I should do more Tea Break Coach sessions actually BY the sea?!
